Day 16: Path set, mural grout, hearth set, wall caps

Today they grouted the mural above the mantel. We had chosen a red clay grout to match the bisque of the tile base (which shows through in parts of the pomegranite tree), and are happy with how it turned out. It will look really nice with the Sangria 2x2's around the firebox opening too.

They also finished setting in the firebox. Yesterday they had made a tapered angle on the sides, which was a nice look, but it gave us a bare 6 inches of width for the tile on either side. We asked him to square it off, giving us another inch or so of width, so they did that today, and it should work out well. They also set the flagstones on the hearth, as well as finished the flagstone caps along the wall. And they built the upper half of the return wall where the new gate will go, on the far end of the grill counter. (We're hoping that grill shows up tomorrow!)

They completed setting the flagstones for the perimeter path around the lawn to the outer patio, and that all looks nice.
