Today when I came home, I was delighted to see that they had set up the mural above the mantel. The tile is glued up but not yet grouted. He did a nice job aligning everything (including using seven 2x2's across the bottom rather than eight, which would have been too cramped).
They also cut out the pathway around the perimeter of the lawn, and started to lay out the flagstones for it. We knew that the path cut several inches below the current lawn level in order to meet the level of the outer patio, but we didn't expect it to be quite so deep all around. And we were surprised to see a small section of it filled with concrete, as we do want to grow grass or thyme around the stones. We're not quite sure where that's all going, and will have to discuss it with them tomorrow. We are expecting to have to dig up and regrade the lawn, so maybe it will work out then.
